Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tarik Skubal struck out seven batters after making an emotional return to his former city.

Skubal pitched six innings Friday in his first outing against the Detroit Tigers since his Aug. 2 trade to the Dodgers.

Here's a look at how Skubal did in his first game as a visiting player at Comerica Park.

The Tigers welcomed Skubal back to Detroit by sharing a tribute video celebrating his six and a half seasons in the city.

Skubal allowed a leadoff double from Gleyber Torres on his second pitch of the game.

He bounced back by forcing Hao-Yu Lee and Kevin McGonigle into consecutive strikeouts before closing out a scoreless first inning.

Skubal built on that momentum by retiring the next nine batters he faced, including striking out the side in the third frame.

Skubal ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth after he allowed a leadoff double from Eduardo Valencia.

He was within one strike of closing out the inning when Max Clark connected with his fastball to score an RBI triple.

Skubal gave up another leadoff hit in the bottom of the sixth but got his last three outs in quick succession to close out the no-decision.

He finished the outing having thrown 56 strikes on 83 pitches as the game headed into the seventh in a 1-1 tie.

Since the trade the Dodgers have been leaning heavily on Skubal, who threw more than 100 pitches in each of his prior two starts.

The Dodgers could be hoping this heavy usage will help Skubal adjust to his new club before helping the franchise attempt a World Series three-peat this fall.
