Manny Ramírez was one of MLB's best hitters during his playing career. Now, he's hoping to parlay that accumulated knowledge into a coaching role.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post , Ramírez is seeking a job as a hitting coach, either at the MLB or minor league level:

Players Who Were Worse Than You Think in 2026 ⚾

It is not the first time Ramírez's agent has let this be publicly known. In fact, it was almost exactly one year ago that Heyman posted the following:

"I'm available to work as a hitting coach for any of the 30 MLB teams," Ramírez said back in May 2025 . "I'm confident I can help any team significantly improve their offense."

Ramírez, 54, hit .312 with 2,574 hits, 555 home runs, 1,831 RBI and a .996 OPS during his 19-year MLB career. The two-time World Series champion, 12-time All-Star and nine-time Silver Slugger would assuredly be a Hall of Famer were it not for the three separate positive tests for performance-enhancing drugs during his career.

But there's little doubt the man knew how to swing a bat at the highest level. Whether that would translate to teaching others and helping big leaguers make the necessary adjustments throughout a season is another question entirely.
