Jazz Chisholm Jr. Responds to Red Sox Broadcaster's Comments, 'Not Going to Remember Who He Is'

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is paying no mind to the comments from a Boston Red Sox broadcaster who called the New York Yankees star a "bush league player."

Chisholm shrugged off Red Sox radio play-by-play broadcaster Will Flemming, who said he "plays the game the wrong way."

"I didn't even know who that was until this morning," Chisholm said of Flemming, per The Athletic's Chris Kirschner . "And I'm still not going to remember who he is after today."

Flemming criticized Chisholm after he stole two bases in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Yankees led 7-1. Flemming said that Red Sox left-handed reliever Jovani Moran should "drill" one of Chisholm's teammates for the move.

"They're called unwritten rules because you're not really breaking any rules," Chisholm said. "You've seen teams — actually them (last season) — do the same thing where they're pouring on runs. We didn't have nothing to say or nothing to do about it.

"That's just showing how unprofessional he is."

Flemming apologized for the comments on social media, admitting that he crossed the line.

Chisholm's decision to steal when the Red Sox weren't holding him on the bag came with a green light from manager Aaron Boone, who said he "did the right thing."

"I'm an old-school baseball guy," Boone said. "I've been around doing this forever. I respect some of the unwritten rules. I really do. I think they've evolved and changed some. At the end of the day, I've got to do what's right for my team and try not to get so caught up in what the other team's doing. I felt like we did the right thing."

The Yankees won the game 16-1, capping a 3-1 series win over their AL East rival.
