The Atlanta Braves evened things up in the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

On a relatively slow offensive night, the Braves used a shutdown performance from Didier Fuentes out of the bullpen to take down the Dodgers 3-2.

MLB playoff game among hottest ever in history

Mauricio Dubón got things started for Atlanta, driving in Ronald Acuña Jr. on an infield single in the top of the first inning. The Dodgers answered the Braves' run in the fourth inning when Freddie Freeman hit a solo shot.

The Braves regained the lead in the top of the fifth when Michael Harris II scored on a wild pitch, and Harris then drove in Matt Olson to make it 3-1 in the seventh inning.

Fuentes was perhaps the biggest hero of the night. The 21-year-old is playing in the postseason for the first time this year, but he looked like a veteran when he faced Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and other stars.

Fuentes came in to start the sixth inning and sat down 11 straight batters before giving up a solo home run to Max Muncy in the bottom of the ninth. With Fuentes picking up the first two outs of the inning, the veteran closer, Raisel Iglesias, came in to record the final out.

The Braves are hoping to end the back-to-back champions' season in the divisional round, and more strong defensive performances like the one on Sunday will get the job done.

The series will head to Atlanta for Game 3 on Tuesday.
