For the first time since 1982, the Milwaukee Brewers are on their way to the World Series.

The Brewers came back from four runs down to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 on Thursday to complete a sweep of the back-to-back defending champions in the National League Championship Series.

The Dodgers got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning when Andy Pages drove in Kyle Tucker with a single to center field. Then, with Pages on first base and Teoscar Hernández on second, Ohtani drilled a home run to right-center to make it a 4-0 game.

It marked Ohtani's first home run since August and his first RBI of the postseason, snapping what had been an ugly stretch for the four-time MVP.

The Brewers' offense answered right back, though.

Tyler Glasnow had been perfect for 3.1 innings, but allowed a walk and a double to put two runners in scoring position. Jake Bauers then hit a ground-rule double to right field to score both runners and trim the lead to two runs.

A pair of groundouts prevented any more damage by Milwaukee in the fourth.

In the top of the fifth, Sal Frelick drew a walk and then stole second to give the Brewers a runner in scoring position. David Hamilton then delivered an RBI single to cut the deficit to just one run, and the Dodgers replaced Glasnow with Evan Phillips on the mound.

Phillips' outing was brief, though, as he was pulled after walking two runners and loading the bases. Alex Vesia came in for the Dodgers and walked Bauers, bringing in a run to even things up at four runs apiece.

Los Angeles finally got out of the inning when Christian Yellich grounded out.

The Brewers' momentum carried into the sixth inning, when Garrett Mitchell hit a solo home run to put them on top.

The Dodgers had some hope in the top of the sixth when Kyle Tucker reached third, but Max Muncy struck out to end the inning. It was the same story in the bottom of the seventh when Pages hit a double and reached third on a fielder's choice, but was left stranded.

And if things couldn't get any worse, Los Angeles once again left a runner stranded on third on the bottom of the inning.

Hamilton added some insurance from the Brewers in the top of the ninth with a solo home run to make it 6-4.

The Dodgers went down in order in the bottom of the ninth.

The Brewers' offense did its part in the win, but relief pitcher Aaron Ashby was the hero after shutting down the Dodgers' offense down the stretch to pick up the save.

Now, Milwaukee will celebrate the win before getting ready for either the Tampa Bay Rays or the Cleveland Guardians in the World Series.
