Aaron Judge's Final Box Score Stats & Highlights in Yankees Return After 3-Month Injury Absence

Aaron Judge made his return to the New York Yankees' lineup during the team's matchup with the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.

Judge appeared in a game for the first time since May 31, as he was sidelined for just over three months due to a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side.

He played six innings before he was replaced by Heliot Ramos as New York eases him back into action.

It was a quiet night for Judge, as he went hitless in his three at-bats while striking out twice.

Still, the three-time American League MVP received a standing ovation from the fans at Yankee Stadium during his first plate appearance of the game.

Judge's early exit wasn't a surprise, as Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed that was the plan heading into the game.

"I'm going to be mindful of that, especially this first week," Boone said earlier on Tuesday, per ESPN's Jorge Castillo . "We'll adjust each night and what we see, but we want to build him up smartly."

It isn't too concerning that Judge wasn't able to look like his former self right away, although New York will be hoping that he gradually gets back on track with the postseason coming up.

The Yankees currently hold the No. 2 spot in the AL East standings with an 81-62 record, but they're just four games back from the Tampa Bay Rays for the division lead. They also own the top AL Wild Card spot.

As New York looks to make a deep postseason run, Judge's presence in its batting order will be crucial moving forward.

After earning his second consecutive AL MVP honor last season, he racked up 10 doubles, 17 home runs and 38 RBI while posting a .907 OPS in his first 59 games this year.
