Watch Ex-Mets Star Jose Iglesias Makes Broadway Debut in Trending Video

Two years after "OMG" became a rousing success and an anthem for the New York Mets, Jose Iglesias brought his unique musical ability to the stage.

Iglesias made his Broadway debut on Thursday night during a performance of Buena Vista Social Club .

The former MLB All-Star played the Narrator as part of the show. Buena Vista Social Club debuted off-Broadway in 2023 before opening at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in March 2025.

Iglesias, whose stage name is Candelita, started producing music in 2024 after signing with the Mets. His single "OMG" became a such a hit that MLB had him perform it as part of the festivities at the 2024 Home Run Derby.
