2026 Silver Slugger: Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Junior Caminero among finalists for batting award

Teams like the White Sox, Brewers, Tigers, Royals and Cubs dominate the list of nominees for the honor.

The finalists for the 2026 Silver Slugger awards are out, with many of the league's stars in the running to earn the batting honors this offseason.

The award is voted on by MLB managers and coaches, who vote for the best hitters across the league by position (though not on their own teams). As a result, this year's slate has a number of top names — stars the like Los Angeles Dodgers two-way standout Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout, Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and more — along with many younger up-and-coming stars.

The Chicago White Sox led all teams with four finalists, and are also nominated for the AL offensive team of the year after coming off a strong 2026 season. Other teams, like the Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs, finished with three finalists, with the Brewers' Jake Bauers and the Tigers' Kevin McGonigle earning nominations for both infield positions and utility.

All six of the MVP finalists — Ohtani, Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and Brewers second baseman Brice Turang for the NL, and Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Álvarez, Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero and Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. for the AL — are also in the running for Silver Slugger honors.

Winners of the award will be announced on Nov. 17. Here is a full list of the 2026 Silver Slugger finalists:
