Little League World Series 2026 Wednesday Scores, Bracket Results and Highlights

The Little League World Series kicked off play Wednesday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, with four games spread across the day.

The action is split equally between the United States and international brackets. Here's what unfolded to get the tournament underway.

The squad from Leon, Nicaragua, held on to beat the Caribbean champions 2-1 in Wednesday's first contest.

A two-out double from Clemente Sevilla Pichardo put Nicaragua ahead in the first inning. Moisés Estrada Juaréz scored from second after having advanced on a wild pitch.

Christofer Pichardo got two quick outs for the Dominican Republic to start the second inning, only to load the bases thanks to a single and two walks. A free pass to Sergio Jirón Fuentes brought brought home Nicaragua's second run.

The Dominican Republic halved the deficit with an RBI double by Ethan Estevez in the fifth but couldn't add onto that.

Sevilla Pichardo weaved a gem on the mound, going 5.2 innings and striking out 12 batters. Estrada Juaréz got the final out but not without some drama.

With a runner on second, Yansel Guzman singled to right field. James Cruceta Nin tried to score and was out by some distance after Sevilla Pichardo unleashed a frozen rope from right.

The southpaw certainly had a game to remember.

Extra innings were needed to separate the Northwest and Southeast teams, and Washington came out on top 2-0.

Kasen Workman singled to right with two outs in the top of the seventh. The runner from third scored, and an error by right fielder Lorenzo Quintero allowed the runner on second to reach home as well.

Once it had a turn to bat, Alabama was unable to move the runner over from second. Jerry Taylor, Easton Allen and Kinley Rasmus went down in order to end the game.

Frankie McCabe and Winston Weaver combined to surrender just one hit to Alabama. McCabe started and went five innings, with Weaver going the final two.

On the other side, Rasmus was equally as dominant. Across six innings of work, she allowed one hit and struck out eight, tying Mo'ne Davis' strikeout record for a girl's player in the LLBWS.

Based on the first two games, offense might be at a premium in this year's Little League World Series.

The group from Seoul, South Korea, had little trouble dispatching of the Canadian representative, winning its first game 7-0.

South Korea took the lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Ji Hoo Lee. Ji Hwan Hong hammered a solo home run to left to double the advantage in the third.

Later in the inning, two more runs came in courtesy of a double by Jae Hyun Maeng.

South Korea manufactured more offense in the fourth, scoring on a fielder's choice and then a sacrifice fly. An error by Canada shortstop Cruz Krpan brought in the game's final run.

Needing to mount a massive comeback in the final inning, Daniel Huang led off the sixth with a single. Ji Hwan Hong proceeded to strike out three straight batters and wrap up the victory.

The Metro representatives from Bayonne, New Jersey picked up a thrilling 2-1 victory over the New England squad from Bridgewater, Massachusetts in the final game of the day.

Bayonne got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, taking an early 1-0 lead after Gabe Garcia Jr. scored on a wild pitch.

Bridgewater eventually responded in the top of the third, as Anthony Sullivan tied the contest with a solo home run to center field.

With the score still tied 1-1 in the sixth inning, Mason Rincon hit a walk-off homer that allowed Bayonne to emerge victorious.

Rincon also pitched 4.1 innings in the win, amassing eight strikeouts compared to three walks while allowing just one earned run.
