Yordan Alvarez, Jacob Misiorowski, AL, NL Stat Leaders Ahead of 2026 MLB Season's Final Weekend

With five days remaining in the 2026 MLB regular season, the individual stats leaderboard is almost as unsettled as the playoff races in both leagues.

The key races going into the final weekend involve Yordan Alvarez's quest for the AL triple crown and Jacob Misiorowski looking to lead all of MLB in strikeouts.

Here are the leaders in several individual categories going into Wednesday's games.

Alvarez will need a strong close to the season to win the triple crown. He still leads the AL in average and is tied for the lead in homers, but his RBI pace has fallen off this month.

The Houston Astros star had just five RBI in his first 16 games in September before driving in three on Tuesday in a 7-0 win over the Seattle Mariners.

Alvarez is up to 102 RBI for the season. Pete Alonso's 17 RBI this month have pushed him up to 108 with five games remaining.

Alvarez and Luis Arraez are tied for the MLB lead with a .314 batting average. Both players look like safe bets to maintain that position through Sunday.

Misiorowski, the biggest breakout star of the season for the 2026 NL Central champion Milwaukee Brewers, is looking to become the first pitcher to lead MLB in both ERA and strikeouts in a 162-game season since Jake Peavy in 2007.

The MLB ERA title is down to Misiorowski at 1.86 and New York Yankees ace Cam Schlittler at 1.94. Misiorowski will likely get one more abbreviated start in Milwaukee's final regular-season series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Schlittler is scheduled to make his final regular-season start on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Since the Yankees are locked into the No. 4 seed, he is also likely to have a shortened outing to prepare for Game 1 of the wild-card round on Tuesday.

The strikeout race is arguably more compelling than the ERA title because Gavin Williams of the Cleveland Guardians will likely get the nod on Friday against the Kansas City Royals.

Since the Guardians can't wrap up the AL Central until Friday at the earliest, Williams will likely have a regular outing. He is currently only three Ks behind Misiorowski for the MLB lead.

Williams has 15 strikeouts in 11.2 innings against the Royals this season, but he hasn't faced them since May 5.

NL MVP favorite Pete Crow-Armstrong is one stolen base away from the seventh player in MLB history to have a 40-40 season. He can also become the first Chicago Cubs player to lead the NL in homers since Sammy Sosa hit 49 in 2002.
