Dodgers reach 100 wins in final game of regular season, setting record for manager Dave Roberts

The Los Angeles Dodgers finished off the 2026 MLB regular season by entering 100-win territory, making history for manager Dave Roberts in the process.

With a 5-1 extra-innings win over the San Francisco Giants , the Dodgers improved their record to 100-62, winning the NL West by nine games. It is the first time they've won 100 games since the 2023 season and the 12th time in franchise history.

It is also the Dodgers' sixth 100-win season under manager Dave Roberts, tying him with Joe McCarthy and Bobby Cox for the most by a manager in MLB history. Roberts was previously tied for third at five with Connie Mack and Earl Weaver.

Every manager in the previous two sentences is a Hall of Famer, except for Roberts.

Sunday's win saw both teams employ a bullpen game, resulting in a 1-1 tie after nine innings. The Dodgers poured things on in the 10th inning, capped off by a three-run homer from center fielder Andy Pages .

Roberts' previous 100-win seasons were in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The club has either won 100 games or the National League in every season following Roberts' first year in the dugout in 2016.

Roberts, of course, has benefited from being the manager of an organization that possesses both MLB's deepest pockets and one of the best front offices in baseball. He was specifically brought in to act as a conduit between the roster and president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman's offices, a job he has capably performed for more than a decade now.

That's not something just anyone can do. Roberts has had to sell reduced playing time to both veterans and younger players and maintain clubhouse harmony despite championship expectations every season. He might make tactical errors at times, not to mention controversial decisions, but there's a reason he's still here despite often coming up short of a title before Shohei Ohtani came along.

The Dodgers now enter the postseason looking for the first World Series threepeat since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees . They received a bye with the second-best record in the NL, behind the 103-59 Milwaukee Brewers, and will face the winner of the wild-card series between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS next weekend.
