Dodgers manager Dave Roberts placed Shohei Ohtani back in the leadoff spot ahead of Game 4.

Ohtani, who has been playing through injuries, responded by hitting a three-run home run to give the Dodgers a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second.

The Brewers chipped away at the early lead when Jake Bauers sent home two runs on a ground rule double in the fourth inning.

David Hamilton chased Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow with an RBI single in the fifth.

Relief pitchers Evan Phillips and Alex Vesia were unable to stop the damage as the fifth inning continued. The Brewers loaded the bases before Bauers drew an RBI walk to even the score.

Garrett Mitchell opened the sixth inning with a 409-foot home run to give the Brewers their first lead of the game.

The Dodgers' Kyle Tucker made it to third base in the bottom of the sixth before JoJo Romero ended the frame by forcing Max Muncy into a swinging strikeout.

Brewers reliever Aaron Ashby got his team out of another jam by leaving Will Smith stranded on third in the bottom of the eighth.

Hamilton then padded the Brewers' lead with another solo home run in the top of the ninth.

Ashby retired his last three batters in order to close out the bottom of the ninth and clinch the NL pennant for the Brewers.

The Guardians pulled ahead in the ALCS with a 3-2 Thursday win over the Rays.

The Brewers will now wait for the result of the ALCS, which continues Friday with Game 4 in Cleveland, while preparing to open the World Series a week from Friday in Milwaukee.
