Trichy police arrest Musiri man for allegedly cheating 10 job seekers of Rs 5.3 lakh by promising assistant jobs at district collectorate; probe on.
Trichy: Sessions court police on Thursday arrested a 28-year-old man from Musiri on charges of cheating 10 job seekers of Rs 5.3 lakh under the pretext of arranging jobs for them at the Trichy district collectorate.Police identified the accused as J Surya of Thiruthiyamalai. He initially promised T Sathishkumar, 52, from Uyyakondan Thirumalai, to fetch an assistant job in Trichy district collectorate for his daughter and collected Rs 50,000 from the man. Similarly, nine other job seekers transferred Rs 50,000 each for the assistant job. Separately, he received a sum of Rs 32,000 under the pretext of conducting medical check-ups for the job seekers.Some of the victims handed over the money to Surya behind the district collectorate between May 25 and June 3. As Surya neither arranged for jobs nor returned the money, the victims lodged a complaint with police.
