NEW DELHI: We The Leaders Foundation chief K Annamalai on Tuesday welcomed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement that Muslims and people of other religions have a place in India, made during his visit to the United States.According to PTI, Annamalai said the RSS chief's Vijayadashami speech was closely watched by many people."The RSS chief Shri Mohan Bhagwat ji's Vijayadashami speech is very keenly watched by lot of people. I felt very happy when, during his US visit, he said that India as a country belongs to all communities and that any Hindu who says Muslims and people of other religions have no place in India is completely wrong. I welcome that," Annamalai said.He further said that global interest in India and its civilisation was rising, stressing the need for the country to present its best image to the world and for its leaders and citizens to live up to the standards India has set for itself.Bhagwat made the remarks while addressing the ‘One World, One Humanity’ Faith Leaders Conference in New York on August 29, where he emphasised religious harmony and said that the RSS's idea of a Hindu Rashtra did not mean excluding Muslims.Bhagwat also stressed that people could follow different religions while sharing a common humanity, arguing that every individual deserved dignity regardless of their faith.Get the latest India News and Live updates.
