A teen snuck away from her family’s Minnesota vacation to meet the boy she knew from Roblox. Now she’s warning others not to do the same

Liv (@livvyisblonde) shared a storytime on TikTok about an online boyfriend she met on Roblox in eighth grade, and the family vacation when she snuck away to meet him in person, as reported by the Daily Dot . She said the relationship wasn't great, describing it as a typical middle school and early high school relationship that felt more important at the time than it actually was.

Throughout the video, Liv made clear that while she was telling the story for entertainment, she understood she was lucky nothing bad happened to her.

Liv's story starts around 2022, when she says she played Roblox and made online friends there, talking with them on other platforms such as Discord. She was 14 when she started talking to one of those friends more than the others, and the two began a relationship.

It wasn't a smooth relationship, and they weren't together for the full two years the story covers, though they kept playing together even when they weren't dating. Later, Liv's family planned a vacation to the Mall of America in Minnesota.

Liv says she told her online boyfriend about the trip and asked if he wanted to meet, since he lived in the area. He agreed, and she snuck away from her family to see him. Liv says they did meet up and that she has photos from it. She ended the video by asking viewers not to do what she did, warning that meeting someone from the internet can be dangerous.
