The Prince of Wales has revealed he once dreamed of becoming a policeman or a DJ.

Speaking on BBC One's The Graham Norton Show, Prince William said he thought being a policeman was "quite cool," before going through a phase where he wanted to be a DJ.

Billing himself as "DJ Xara" - with an X - he told the host he "wasn't very good", falling short of the calibre needed to play school parties.

The Prince made a surprise appearance on the show which airs on Friday evening, as part of a special edition to mark the Earthshot Prize, an initiative he set up in 2020 to tackle global environmental issues.

He was joined on the sofa by Cate Blanchett, Robert Irwin and Hannah Waddingham, who are all involved with the prize.
