Police in the Indian capital have detained the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Abhijeet Dipke, and hundreds of others to block a protest demanding the resignation of the chief election commissioner over alleged voter list fraud.
Thousands of members of the security forces have been deployed and travel and telecommunications links suspended as several parts of New Delhi were put under a sweeping security lockdown.
