SC asks Anant to surrender by Dec 4 in murder case
Supreme Court suspends Mokama MLA Anant Singh’s bail in Dularchand Yadav murder case, orders surrender by Dec 4, 2026; probe to finish in 4 months.
Patna: The Supreme Court on Thursday suspended Mokama MLA Anant Singh’s bail in the Dularchand Yadav murder case and directed him to surrender before the investigating officer by Dec 4, 2026, extending the earlier deadline of Dec 1. The Patna high court’s March 19, 2026, bail order will remain suspended until the next hearing.Questioning the grounds for granting bail, the apex court observed that the number of criminal cases against Singh and the seriousness of the allegations had not been adequately considered. It also questioned the approach of attributing the cases against him to political rivalry. The court directed the investigating officer to complete the probe within four months and file a supplementary chargesheet. The case will be heard again after that period.Recounting the events of Oct 30, 2025, Singh had recently said, “I had left with his supporters and convoy after having lunch. The incident took place in the Mokama assembly constituency, where Yadav’s house was located in Tartad village.”He claimed several people and vehicles were part of the convoy. While some vehicles had moved ahead, others were trailing behind. Singh said his vehicle had crossed the spot and was around 5km ahead when he learned of a clash involving people in the vehicles behind him.He said he subsequently called those travelling in the trailing vehicles to find out who was involved and what had happened. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Patna | Silver Rate in Patna | Bank Holidays in Patna | Public Holidays in Patna | Patna AQI | Weather in Patna | Petrol Price in Patna | Diesel Price in Patna | CNG Price in Patna | LPG Price in PatnaStay updated with the latest Patna news.
