Firefighters spend second night at scene of Glasgow scrapyard blaze
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the alarm was raised at the business in the Scotstoun area of the city on Friday night.
Firefighters have spent a second night at the scene of a major blaze at a scrapyard in Glasgow.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said the alarm was raised at the business on South Street, in the Scotstoun area of the city, at about 23:23 on Friday.
One local resident captured dramatic footage of the fire at its peak, with explosive bangs emitting from an area engulfed in flames.
Nine fire engines, two high-reach vehicles and specialist resources responded to the incident. No casualties were reported.
The SFRS said crews were in attendance overnight and three appliances were still at the scene on Sunday afternoon.
During the response a high volume water pump was used to draw water from the nearby River Clyde.
The public were advised to keep windows and door closed if they could see smoke.
