Three held for raping 13-year-old in Garhwa

Garhwa: Three men were taken into custody for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Garhwa district, police said on Saturday.The incident allegedly took place on Oct 19 night when the minor was returning home after visiting a Durga Puja fair. Police said she was walking alone after her friends had returned home when the accused, aged between 20 and 25, allegedly intercepted her and took her to a secluded house.The survivor alleged that she was sexually assaulted and confined for nearly two hours before being released around 3 am after being threatened against disclosing the incident.Police said the girl informed her mother of her ordeal on Saturday after she complained of pain. Her mother then approached police and lodged a complaint. An officer said a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Pocso Act.
