Noida Authority plans 4-floor digital library in Sector 52
Noida Authority to build Rs 8.29-crore, 4-floor digital public library in Sector 52 with 300 seats, computers, Wi-Fi, seminar room; ready by 2027 end.
Noida: From bookshelves stocked with titles across subjects to computers offering access to digital resources, Noida’s upcoming public library in Sector 52 is envisioned as a space where students and readers can learn, prepare and explore under one roof.Noida Authority is set to build the four-storey facility in Block B of Sector 52, spread across 3,000 square metres, including the ground floor, with a seating capacity of 300. Apart from books on different subjects, the library will house study material for major competitive examinations, making it a resource centre for students preparing for various entrance and recruitment tests. The Rs 8.29-crore facility will have a dedicated computer section with large screens, printers, internet access and LAN networking. A seminar room and cafeteria are also part of the plan, along with air conditioning, clean drinking water and security arrangements.“In addition to books, students will have access to a dedicated computer section within the library. Facilities for internet access and digital content will be provided,” said SP Singh, general manager (Civil), Noida Authority.LED lighting, acoustic false ceilings, illuminated signage, CCTV surveillance and landscaped outdoor spaces will add to the facility. Entry will be free for students, while the library will be operated through a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.Authority has finalised the architectural design and issued a construction tender. The project is expected to take a year, with the library likely to be ready by the end of 2027. Another similar facility is also planned in a sector yet to be identified.“We want a similar facility like the Coforge Library in Noida for Sector 52 library. For this, we will give a contract for it to be operated through a CSR drive. The final modalities regarding its operation and management will be determined in due course,” Singh said.Noida already has Coforge Public Library in Sector 59, a CSR initiative by Coforge Limited that offers over 10,000 books and digital access. Similar facilities run by the company are located in Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Delhi. While residents have welcomed the proposed library, they have also flagged concerns over the likely increase in visitors and the pressure this could place on neighbourhood infrastructure.“If such a large public library is built inside Sector 52, a significant number of people from outside the sector will also visit it. This could lead to several practical problems, including parking shortages, increased traffic, security concerns, overcrowding, cleanliness issues, and other related challenges. These problems would directly affect the daily lives of the sector’s residents and should be addressed by the Authority,” said Ashok Sharma, a Sector 52 resident. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Noida | Silver Rate in Noida | Bank Holidays in Noida | Public Holidays in Noida | Noida AQI | Weather in Noida | Petrol Price in Noida | Diesel Price in Noida | CNG Price in Noida | LPG Price in NoidaStay updated with the latest Noida news.
