Three held for bomb attacks on two houses

T’puram: Chirayinkeezhu Police arrested three persons in connection with the alleged hurling of crude bombs at two houses in Puthukari and nearby areas within a fortnight.The arrested are Ranjith and Ajeesh, both of Menamkulam, and Vaishnav of Keezhattingal. The police said they were arrested at Vangalamukku, where they had allegedly been staying after the attacks.According to the police, the accused were allegedly hired to carry out the attacks in connection with a property dispute. Further probe is under way.Recently, Puthukari Vayal native Vijayan’s house was attacked by the accused. Four crude bombs were allegedly hurled at the house while nine members of the family were inside. Three bombs exploded, and the fourth was later recovered and defused. No one was injured.CCTV footage showed two men arriving on a motorcycle and throwing the explosives at the house.A similar attack had been reported days earlier at the house of CPM local committee member, and former grama panchayat member Beeja Suresh.Stay updated with the latest Thiruvananthapuram news.
