Apple TV has been a roaring success at Emmys this year. The iPhone-makers' Apple TV proved to be the most successful studio at the Emmys 2026. The tech giant took home as many as 28 trophies in total, including six “Pluribus” wins, three for “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” three for “Palm Royale,” one for “Slow Horses” and one for “Mr. Scorsese.” This is the first time at the top of the tally for Apple. HBO Max came in second place this year with 21 Emmys.Interestingly, Apple TV has long been compared to HBO. In fact, Apple has even been called "the new HBO" at times by some analysts. HBO boss Casey Bloys was asked by Deadline after the awards show for his reaction to Apple’s performance. In an interview conducted during HBO Max’s afterparty at the San Vicente Bungalows, Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, spoke about the company’s Emmy win. Bloys was asked what he thinks about Apple TV’s performance and their first time finishing as the No. 1 platform at the Emmys?' To this, HBO CEO replied, "Well, I’m very happy because I think that they’re very handsome competitors, Zack and Jamie. Look, we’ve had very formidable competitors in going back to Showtime, FX, AMC, Netflix, Amazon, so [when] Apple, everybody, keeps us on our toes, I think we do our best work. It’s a little scary that they’re a trillion-dollar company, but we’ll continue to do what we do, which is put out the best shows that we can."Reacting to the wins, former Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote on Twitter, "Stories have the power to move us, inspire us, and bring us closer together. Congrats to the Apple TV creators, cast, and crews behind the incredible work celebrated at the Emmys for Widow’s Bay, Pluribus, Slow Horses, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Palm Royale, and Mr. Scorsese!"HBO at Emmys over the yearsHBO was first allowed entry into the Emmys in the year 1988. The studio has been a dominant force at the Emmys ever since, initially competing with the broadcast networks, then basic and premium cable networks and, most recently, streamers like Netflix, Apple TV and Amazon’s Prime Video. In 2026, HBO shared the No. 1 title with Netflix for most Emmy wins. This year, it finished second to Apple TV with 21 wins versus Apple's 28. HBO won Outstanding Drama Series for 'The Pitt' and Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series with DTF St. Louis. After HBO Max, at the No. 3 was Netflix. The American streaming giant got 16 wins.
