Kirby Carpenter was a self-made millionaire, a big deal in his small town of Ripley, Mississippi. He had a beautiful property, a girlfriend, a son, and a baby girl. The 36-year-old jack-of-all-trades was a master of many. He made his fortune in the gold and silver trade and had owned multiple local businesses. But with success came the fear that someday someone would try to take it all away from him. That fear was realized on December 2, 2022, when Kirby was found shot dead on his property. He left behind a grieving family and a mystery. It would be up to investigators to determine if Kirby’s killer came from his business world or from somewhere much closer to home.
