Michigan State soccer ranked for the first time in 2026
After a 2-0 start, Michigan State has found themselves ranked for the first time in 2026.
For the first time this season, Michigan State soccer has entered the top 25 in the national rankings.
The Spartans, who prepped for the year with a pair of exhibitions against Loyola Chicago and Notre Dame, both ending in draws, have found a pair of wins to open the campaign 2-0.
An opening night win against Albany set the stage for Michigan State, defeating the Great Danes 6-2 with an offensive barrage. Following the win, the Spartans got another home win, this time against Seattle. The Spartans defeated the Redhawks 2-1.
With the undefeated start, Michigan State checked in at No. 24 in the United Coaches poll on Tuesday.
Michigan State will have a pair of home games with their fresh ranking, facing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Thursday before welcoming in Niagara on Sunday.
