INDORE: A 55-year-old woman was allegedly murdered and her daughter seriously injured in their house in Satwas area of Dewas on Wednesday night, with the crime coming to light only on Thursday afternoon after the woman's three-year-old granddaughter was found wandering outside in blood-stained clothes. The toddler had apparently remained inside the house for several hours with her injured mother and dead grandmother before she was noticed by people in the neighbourhood. Police suspect the child may have been asleep for much of the time and woke up later, while her mother, though conscious, was too badly injured to get up and seek help.SP Puneet Gehlot said the deceased woman's daughter was found seriously injured inside the house. After being alerted, police reached the spot and took the injured woman to hospital, where her statement was recorded.Based on the information provided by her, police detained two persons for questioning. Both are residents of Satwas, sources said. The incident took place at the family's house in Punarwas area on Punarasa Road. The woman had come to her mother's place for Rakshabandhan and had stayed back. A police team, including senior officers, reached the spot after the toddler was found and began examining the circumstances in which the attack took place. A knife was recovered from the house, and a forensic science laboratory team was called to examine the scene. Investigators are also questioning people in the neighbourhood.Sources said a possible robbery angle is also being examined, though police have not yet established the motive or confirmed whether valuables were taken from the house. The deceased had owned the land that had been leased out and reportedly was dependent on the income from it for household expenses.Police are now trying to establish what happened between Wednesday night, when the attack is suspected to have taken place, and Thursday afternoon, when the child's presence led to the crime being discovered. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Indore | Silver Rate in Indore | Bank Holidays in Indore | Public Holidays in Indore | Petrol Price in Indore | Diesel Price in Indore | CNG Price in Indore | LPG Price in IndoreStay updated with the latest Indore news.
