Two dead, two critical after small plane crashes in California

Two people were killed and two others critically injured after a small plane crashed near Sierra Sky Park Airport in Fresno, California, in the US, on Saturday.The aircraft crashed near Blythe Avenue, close to Sierra Sky Park Airport, according to ABC30 News, which cited the Fresno fire department. The circumstances leading to the crash were not immediately clear.The two injured were taken to hospital in critical condition, the department said.Several agencies responded to the crash site, including the Fresno police department, Fresno fire department, Fresno County sheriff’s office and North Central fire department, ABC30 News reported. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) also responded after the incident affected power supplies in the surrounding area.According to PG&E’s outage map, electricity was briefly disrupted for nearby residents following the crash. The outage was later restored. The US authorities have not yet released further details about the identities of those involved or what caused the aircraft to crash.
