Fire breaks out at food plaza at Sealdah station in Kolkata

KOLKATA: A fire broke out at a shop adjacent to the food court outside Sealdah railway station on Monday morning, triggering panic among commuters and briefly disrupting traffic movement in the area.The blaze was reported around 9.15am at one of the front stalls, following which three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Firefighters brought the flames under control in around 30 minutes, officials said.No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.The exact cause of the fire will be ascertained after a forensic examination, an official said.The fire initially caused panic among commuters gathered outside the station. However, there was no untoward incident, officials said.
