‘Situation under control’: Delhi minister as city logs 2,308 H1N1 cases amid flu surge

New Delhi: Delhi schools could take important steps in view of the rising H1N1, flu and influenza cases, with some stepping up safety protocols and recommending online classes for students.On Tuesday, health minister Pankaj Singh held a presser and said "the situation was under control and there was no need to panic."He said Delhi had reported 3,000 influenza cases, including 2,308 H1N1 infections.“There is no issue with doctors, staff or medicines,” he said.The minister further said there was no need for panic as patients were continuously coming in, receiving proper treatment and returning home. He added that isolation wards were available in every hospital.He said strict action would be taken against any hospital if a patient complained about not being provided a bed.What is H1N1?H1N1 infection is commonly known as swine flu that comes with fever, cough, sore throat, headache, body aches and fatigue.
