HYDERABAD: A bus driver’s attempt to avoid a car that allegedly entered a service road from the wrong direction resulted in an RTC bus crashing into a petrol bunk at Batasingaram in Abdullapurmet. No injuries were reported in the incident, a video of which has since gone viral on social media.According to Abdullapurmet police, a case was registered against the RTC bus driver based on a complaint lodged by the petrol bunk manager, alleging damage to two cars and a fixed installation on the premises.Police said two cars were waiting to refuel when the bus, travelling along the service road, suddenly veered into the petrol bunk and collided with the vehicles and an installation. Bunk employees ran to safety after noticing the bus approaching at high speed. The bus eventually came to a halt inside the premises. However, an examination of CCTV footage revealed that a parked truck on the service road and a car that allegedly entered from the wrong direction contributed to the incident. Police said the bus driver’s view was obstructed by the parked truck, and he swerved left to avoid colliding with the car that suddenly appeared in front of him.Despite the evasive manoeuvre, the bus entered the petrol bunk and damaged two cars before coming to a stop.
