Video: Bengaluru footpath transformer explodes outside Amazon office, 2 injured

BENGALURU: A transformer box installed on a footpath outside Amazon’s office on Baglur Main Road exploded, injuring two pedestrians and raising questions over the placement of electrical infrastructure on busy walkways.One of the injured pedestrians suffered severe burns to his hands after falling during the blast, while another sustained minor injuries. A girl student who was walking nearby reportedly escaped unhurt.The incident was captured on camera by a parent who was passing the stretch while dropping his children at school.The blast has renewed concerns over the safety of transformers located on pedestrian paths, particularly in areas frequented by schoolchildren and other vulnerable road users.A similar transformer explosion in Bengaluru in 2022 had killed a father-daughter duo.
