Shin Bet, police arrest central Israel resident for planning October 7-inspired terror attack

Israeli authorities arrested a 19-year-old resident of Kafr Kassem for planning a terrorist attack inspired by a previous massacre.

The suspect was found in possession of training equipment, airsoft weapons, and materials to manufacture explosive devices.

The investigation revealed that the suspect had involved others in his attempts to create homemade explosives for terror attacks.

The suspect was reportedly inspired by the October 7 massacre and was planning on carrying out a terrorist attack involving explosives.

A 19-year-old resident of Kafr Kassem was arrested on suspicion of advancing terrorist activity and planning to carry out an attack, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Israel Police stated on Tuesday.

The joint investigation found that Issa had been influenced by the October 7 massacre . According to the investigation, he subsequently began advancing a plan to carry out a terrorist attack .

When Issa was arrested, investigators found a large amount of training equipment and airsoft weapons in his possession. His interrogation further revealed that he had used his cellphone to search for combat manuals and had downloaded and saved guides dealing with the manufacture of explosive devices.

Suspect learned how to create homemade explosives in preparation for terror attacks

According to the investigation's findings, the suspect did not limit himself to searching for information. The Shin Bet and police allege that he attempted to manufacture explosive devices using various materials and also involved other people in those attempts.

Following his interrogations by the Shin Bet and the Sharon Central Unit, prosecutors submitted a declaration to the Central District Court ahead of filing an indictment against him.
