Hazaribag: Hunterganj police in Chatra district have arrested a wanted criminal from Bihar’s list of top 10 offenders and recovered a stolen SUV from his possession, officers said on Saturday.The accused, Rambhajju Yadav alias Preman Yadav, 35, a resident of Rebda village in Bihar’s Gaya district, was arrested on Friday following a tip-off received by Chatra SP Animesh Naithany. Police said Yadav carries a reward of Rs 50,000 and is wanted in more than 15 cases, including robbery, dacoity, murder and violations of the Arms Act, registered in Jharkhand and Bihar.Acting on information that Yadav would arrive at Jajlo market in an SUV, a special team led by Hunterganj police station officer in-charge Sandeep Kumar laid a trap near Mirpur cemetery. The team intercepted the vehicle during a checking drive. During questioning, Yadav failed to produce valid ownership documents for the SUV, police said.“Preliminary questioning indicated that Yadav was planning a major criminal activity with his associates. Police are probing his network and tracing his associates,” Kumar said.According to police records, Yadav has been named in over 15 cases registered at police stations in Jharkhand and Bihar, including Hunterganj, Chouparan, Sherghati, Barachatti, Amas, Tilaia, Ara Nawada and Pakur Muffasil.Stay updated with the latest Ranchi news.
