LUCKNOW: Expelled BSP leader, Ashok Siddharth, on Thursday, said that he is taking 'sanyas' from politics. He is a former Rajya Sabha MP of BSP, and father-in-law of BSP national president Mayawati's nephew, Akash Anand.Mayawati, on Wednesday, had said that if Ashok Siddharth retires from politics completely, it will be good for Akash Anand's political career in the party, and that he will be able to work freely in the party. On Thursday, Ashok Siddharth, in his long post on X, said, "For me, your command is the greatest. My relationships, family, everything feels utterly insignificant in front of it. Under your guidance, for the past thirty-five years, I have been devoted to the BSP and its mission . Whatever responsibilities you have entrusted to me thus far, I have strived to fulfill them with all my might. You are my political guru, my elder sister. It is because of you that I have had the privilege of serving as a member of the Legislative Council and the Rajya Sabha. You deemed someone as ordinary as me worthy enough to make a mere worker like me a part of your family. This is a debt I can never repay in this lifetime. "He also clarified that he never did anything against the interests of the party, or Mayawati. On him having an influence over Akash Anand, he added, "Let alone advising Akash Ji, I haven't even met him in the past several months except on a couple of occasions when his programs were scheduled in those states for which you had assigned me the responsibility."He also pointed out that there were people within the party who have been accusing him of trying to seize control of the party, of attempting to mislead Akash Anand, out of envy. "This is a conspiracy by my political opponents, who are themselves engaged in anti-party activities, and the truth of which will surely come before you one day or another. "He also urged Mayawati to not link his "sanyas" with Akash's return to the party, or his growth in the party. "He is your nephew before being my son-in-law. He has your blood running in his veins; he has spent two decades of his life under your shelter and care, how could an ordinary worker like me possibly mislead him? You understand his good and bad better than anyone else; whether to give him responsibility again or not is your decision," said Ashok Siddharth. He continued to request that by linking his retirement from politics to Akash Anand's career in the party, an ordinary worker like him is being given more importance than he deserves.Mayawati had recently restricted the role of Akash Anand in the party, and had allowed him to work only as an ordinary party worker. Akash Anand was the national convener of the party till Mayawati limited his role in the party. In her post, on Wednesday, she had blamed Ashok Siddharth for Akash Anand's fall in the party. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Lucknow | Silver Rate in Lucknow | Bank Holidays in Lucknow | Public Holidays in Lucknow | Lucknow AQI | Weather in Lucknow | Petrol Price in Lucknow | Diesel Price in Lucknow | CNG Price in Lucknow | LPG Price in LucknowStay updated with the latest Lucknow news.
