The winners of a local animal charity's first photography competition have been announced.

The JSPCA said its first Favourite Animal Moments Photo Competition invited people aged five and upwards to submit photos "celebrating the special bond between animals and people".

The charity said winning photographs would feature in its 2027 calendar with all proceeds supporting animal welfare services across the island.

Chief executive of the JSPCA Pam Aubert said the charity was "over the moon with the response" to its first launch of the competition.

She said: "Jersey is home to so many talented photographers and, of course, amazing animals and the entries we received really proved this.

"We plan for this competition to become something islanders look forward to every year as we celebrate the animals that enrich all of our lives."

Adam Heath, was part of the judging panel, and said judges were impressed by the quality of entrants.

He said: "I have to say that we found judging really difficult, due to the huge response and the extraordinary variety of images submitted.

"We tried to choose photos people will enjoy looking at and hope it generates much needed funds to support the fantastic work of the JSPCA for the people and pets of Jersey."

Tina won the title of Little Paws Photographer (ages five to eight), Eliza was Young Animal Photographer (ages nine to 12), Nathan was Teem Photographer (ages 13 to 17) and the Adult Photgrapher/ Overall Winner (age 18+) was Hannah Saxby.

The JSPCA said photographs were judged on "creativity, composition and their ability to tell a story" and added age appropriate judging criteria was in place for younger entrants.
