NEW DELHI: BJP president Nitin Nabin on Monday targeted Rahul Gandhi, saying the Congress leader had "no vision" and would be responsible for the party's "wipeout".The BJP chief made the remarks while leading the BJP's 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' (Save Democracy, End Anarchy) march in Kolkata.West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari and several senior party leaders joined the rally organised as part of the BJP's counter-campaign against opposition protests over the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls."Rahul has no vision, he will be responsible for Congress's wipeout," Nabin said. "Rahul spoke against the misrule of Mamata regime during Bengal polls; now both sharing stage," he added. The BJP chief further accused Rahul of being part of a "toolkit of foreign forces trying to destabilise India".He also warned Rahul to learn from his mistakes, saying, "I tell Rahul Gandhi - learn from your mistakes. Otherwise, in the days to come, there would be no one left in the country to take the name of Congress.."Nabin also criticised opposition leaders who gathered at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on Sunday to protest against the SIR exercise."Yesterday, at Delhi's Ramleela Maidan, these people were shedding tears in the despair of defeat. But the people of the country will give them a befitting reply, just as the people of West Bengal have done," he said.Nabin also targeted the INDIA bloc parties, claiming they had suffered electoral defeats in several states."People of INDIA bloc, who were defeated in their respective states, had gathered in Delhi to cry. The manner in which TMC was wiped out in Bengal, Congress and AAP were wiped out in Delhi,” he said.“In Bihar too, RJD was completely wiped out. Now, it is Uttar Pradesh's turn, we had defeated Akhilesh Yadav earlier too and we will defeat him in 2027 too. Such people with anarchist mindsets are led by Rahul Gandhi...People of Bengal have given freedom from Mamata didi as well as from Rahul Gandhi in Delhi..." he added."There is no use in crying anymore," he said, referring to former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee's participation in the rally. The BJP's march began at College Street and proceeded towards Dharmatala in central Kolkata, with hundreds of BJP supporters taking part. Nabin, Adhikari and state BJP president Shamik Bhattacharya held national flags during the rally. The BJP has organised similar programmes in several cities, accusing opposition parties of spreading misinformation and creating unrest over the electoral roll revision exercise.Addressing party workers ahead of the march, BJP spokesperson Debjit Sarkar said the programme was aimed at countering attempts by opposition parties to create anarchy.Get the latest India News and Live updates.
