Ms. Rachel calls out Ed Sheeran after Macklemore dropped from tour following Palestine support

Children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel criticized reports that Ed Sheeran dropped Macklemore from his ongoing tour because of the rapper’s pro-Palestinian advocacy.

“Ed Sheeran is making a political statement to his fans when he does a concert to support Ukraine, but considers Palestine too dangerous and political,” Ms. Rachel, whose full name is Rachel Accurso, wrote in a Tuesday Instagram post .

On Monday, Macklemore said that stadium owners — among them Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots — urged the British singer to oust him from the Loop Tour due to past comments about Palestine. The rapper has posted several images of himself donning the Palestinian flag and shared several infographics about Israel’s war in Gaza to social media.

Accurso herself has a history of activism. In April 2025, she put out a statement online responding to criticism she faced over her calls for the protection of Palestinian children. The YouTuber star has also spoken out against Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities, having read books to detainees in New Jersey’s Delaney Hall in June.

“All children have the right to food, water, medical care and education. All children should be protected from violence,” she wrote in her 2025 statement.

Per The Hollywood Reporter , pro-Israel groups went after Macklemore earlier this month after he called for a “free Palestine” during Sheeran’s Sept. 4 MetLife Stadium concert. Pop artist Pink criticized the rapper for his pro-Palestinian comments, allegedly pushing for his removal from the tour.

In his own Instagram post Tuesday, Sheeran said that tour promoters, not himself, chose to cut Macklemore from Loop.

“Macklemore’s contract for the tour was with the promoter, not me,” the British singer wrote.

“Imagine being a Palestinian kid and seeing he did a concert for Ukraine but when over 20,000 Palestinian children are killed he’s silent,” Accurso wrote, referencing Sheeran’s March 2022 performance raising funds for Ukraine after Russia’s invasion.

In an Aug. 2022 Instagram post, Ukrainian band Antytila posed alongside Sheeran with the country’s flag, commending the pop star for “standing by Ukraine.”

“Thank you Ed and all the team! You are great people with huge hearts!” the band wrote.

In a post on Instagram, Macklemore said Sheeran “and his team have made the decision to remove me from The Loop tour,” alleging the singer had spoken to him about pro-Palestinian messaging “being hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with.”

The rapper wrote, “I told (Sheeran) if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and when I stood.”

The YouTuber echoed Macklemore in her Tuesday post, saying, “Palestinian kids have been so dehumanized that as they continue to be killed people debate about being political. It’s sick.”
