BENGALURU: A woman's frantic three-hour journey to cover just 19km through peak-hour Bengaluru traffic has drawn attention online after she shared a video recounting how she raced against time to catch a train to Kerala. The woman said she started from Electronic City around 5pm to catch a 7pm train from Krishnarajapuram station, despite knowing that the train was already running two hours late.Heavy rain in Bengaluru further worsened the traffic, stretching what should have been a short journey into a three-hour ordeal. She said the 19km journey took more than three hours, leaving her and her fellow travellers convinced midway that they would miss the train.Bengaluru traffic puts train journey at riskAccording to her account, the worsening traffic led them to consider turning back. However, they noticed that the train was being held up at some stations, giving them a chance to still make it."We were like head on head with the train kind of," she said, recalling how their journey and the train's progress seemed to be racing against each other.By the time they reached the station, the train was being announced for platform number two. She said they rushed out of the cab with their suitcases and ran up and down the stairs to reach the train. ‘Running as if we were running for our life’The woman said the journey was particularly important as the upcoming long weekend meant getting another ticket to Kerala in the next three days would have been difficult."We had to travel and that's why we were running as if we were running for our life," she said. She said it was only after they boarded the train that they were able to relax.Woman’s 17-breakdown traffic taleIn the caption accompanying the video, she summed up the experience with humour: "19 km. 3 hours. One train to catch. And approximately 17 emotional breakdowns in between.""At one point I had already accepted that the train was gone and Bangalore had won. But somehow… SOMEHOW… I made it. " she wrote. She added: "Peak Bangalore traffic really said, ‘You wanted a peaceful journey? Not today.’" ‘Huge respect’ for Bengaluru commutersThe experience also left her expressing admiration for people who make long daily commutes through Bengaluru's traffic. She said she was not someone who could handle such a journey every day and had, over the last 10 years, tried to live within five kilometres of her workplace."Hopefully I can do it," she said, referring to continuing to stay close to work. She also hoped for better transport and road infrastructure in Bengaluru, while ending on a softer note about the city."whatever I complain about Bangalore I still love you Bangalore," she said. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Bengaluru | Silver Rate in Bengaluru | Bank Holidays in Bengaluru | Public Holidays in Bengaluru | Bengaluru AQI | Weather in Bengaluru | Petrol Price in Bengaluru | Diesel Price in Bengaluru | CNG Price in Bengaluru | LPG Price in BengaluruStay updated with the latest Bengaluru news.
