NEW DELHI: Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing to Friday on Punjab govt's appeal against an HC directive for CBI probe into ED's allegations of corruption in transfers, postings and tenders allegedly perpetrated by an OSD to the CM as the case file did not reach one of the two judges scheduled to take up the case.Justice Dipankar Datta told senior advocate Vikas Singh, who appeared for the state, the case file did not reach his bench partner Justice Sheel Nagu on time for him to prepare for the hearing. "It can either be taken up on Friday or Monday."Singh preferred a hearing on Friday but urged SC to restrain CBI from taking any coercive action based on HC's Oct 5 order. Justice Datta asked, "How can we grant any interim order without hearing?" Singh said Justice Nagu, who was the Punjab and Haryana HC chief justice for two years until his SC elevation, had dealt with the person involved in some other case. Justice Nagu said he would go through the case file and decide whether to hear the case.Get the latest India News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
