What goes on in the mind of a stalker, and how do you stop one before things turn dangerous? That question is at the heart of the upcoming Malayalam web series Eyes, which explores obsession, vulnerability, and control through the perspective of a police officer working on disturbing cases involving women. Directed by Manu Ashokan, the series is set to premiere on October 9.The story follows Tina Sebastian, played by Kani Kusruti, a police officer who investigates disturbing cases involving women. As the investigation progresses, mental health professionals join forces with law enforcement to understand the psychology of stalkers and identify factors that could lead to dangerous situations. The series examines the minds of those involved in stalking while following efforts to protect potential victims.The project marks Manu Ashokan’s third directorial venture, following Uyare and Kaanekkaane. He shared the first glimpse on social media and called the project a special journey. “After Uyare and Kaanekkaane, I’m stepping into my third project as a director, a journey that has been deeply special to me,” he wrote. He added, “A new world. A new story. A new experience. Today, I’m happy to finally share its first glimpse with you,” while announcing that the trailer is out now.Eyes is written by Bobby and Sanjay, based on a story by Anjana Nayar, and produced by T.R. Shamsudheen under Dream Katcher Productions. Its tagline, “Watch, Protect, Defend”, captures its focus on investigation, protection and the psychology behind stalking.Alongside Kani Kusruti, the cast includes Shruti Ramachandran, Nikhila Vimal, Saniya Iyappan and Dev Mohan. Together, they bring to life a story that blends police work with psychological analysis, following characters as they deal with cases that put women’s safety at stake.With its focus on stalking, obsession and the psychology behind such cases, Manu Ashokan’s Eyes brings together police investigation and mental health perspectives in a story centred on the safety and vulnerability of women. The series is set to premiere on October 9.
