Body parts of woman, child found in sacks in Keralam; missing husband’s role in murder suspected

PALAKKAD: Police said the woman and child whose body parts were found in sacks in the Bhavani river a day ago have been identified.The murder suspect is believed to be the woman’s husband, a native of West Bengal, news agency PTI reported.A senior police officer leading the investigation said that family members of the victims are being contacted for a "full identification" of the remains.He further said the woman’s missing husband is suspected to be the culprit, and a team has been sent to trace and arrest him."The investigation is going on," he added.The body parts of the woman and child were found stuffed in two sacks abandoned on a dried-up portion of the Bhavani river near Cherakadav in Agali on Sunday.Police said cattle herders spotted the sacks and alerted the Pudur police after noticing a strong stench emanating from them, raising their suspicion.The body parts were in an advanced stage of decomposition, making identification difficult, police had said.(With agency inputs)You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Kochi | Silver Rate in Kochi | Bank Holidays in Kochi | Public Holidays in KochiStay updated with the latest Kochi news.
