Two youths, Jigar Shah and Azad, died after a speeding truck hit their bike in Maharajganj; police review CCTV to trace the driver who fled.
Lucknow: Two young men were killed after their motorcycle was allegedly hit by a speeding truck at Vijay Salahia crossing on the Brijmanganj-Farenda road in Maharajganj district on Monday. The truck driver fled the spot with the vehicle after the accident.The deceased were identified as Jigar Shah, 22, a resident of Ahmadnagar in Kavalpur village, and his friend Azad, 21, of Bankatwa locality in the same village.Police said the two had gone to Anandnagar railway station to book reserved tickets for Mumbai. They were returning home on a motorcycle when a truck travelling from Bangadhia towards Farenda allegedly rammed into their vehicle near Vijay Salahia crossing. The impact was severe and both died on the spot.After receiving information about the accident, police reached the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Circle Officer Deep Shikha Verma also inspected the site.Brijmanganj SHO Madan Mohan Mishra said police were examining CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the truck involved in the accident.“The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
