DUSU Results 2026: ABVP wins 3 posts, NSUI rebel Deepanshu Shokeen bags vice-president seat

NEW DELHI: ABVP’s Yash Dabas was elected president of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), while independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen won the vice-president’s post as results for the four central panel positions were announced on Saturday.Dabas secured 24,576 votes to defeat NSUI’s Vijay Shankar Meena, who polled 22,523 votes. Left candidate Anaya Raturi finished third with 5,377 votes, while ASAP’s Ashmit Kumar secured 1,388 votes.The presidential contest also saw Sameer Kumar receive 1,115 votes, while Ejaj Mansuri and Samarth Beniwal polled 837 and 819 votes, respectively.The vice-president’s post went to independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen, who emerged as the highest vote-getter among the four central panel winners with 30,615 votes.Shokeen is an NSUI rebel.ABVP’s Ishu Maurya finished second with 16,910 votes, while NSUI’s Vir Chatrath polled 4,313 votes. Left candidate Akshat Shikhar secured 2,383 votes and Aranya Singh Rathore received 2,274 votes.ABVP also won the secretary’s post, with Riya Chhawdi securing 21,650 votes.NSUI’s Namrata Chaudhary finished second with 14,869 votes, followed by Left candidate Stanzin Deskyong with 8,734 votes. ASAP’s Pankaj Kumar received 7,639 votes.The joint-secretary contest saw a closer fight, with ABVP’s Lakshay Raj Singh emerging victorious with 16,615 votes.SCS candidate Vishesh Yadav came second with 15,778 votes, while NSUI’s Gopal Choudhary polled 15,206 votes. Left candidate B Parijat received 5,837 votes.The results give ABVP three of the four central panel posts, with the organisation winning the president, secretary and joint-secretary positions.
