Madhya Pradesh: Boy Dies in Road Mishap While Fleeing After Beheading Girlfriend

Bhopal: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly murdered and beheaded by her boyfriend in Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh on Sept 30, but within hours of the killing, the youth died in a road accident while fleeing the area, police said. The girl’s seven-day-old body was recovered from the forest in Biaora on Tuesday, with her skull found about 50 feet from the torso.The youth, identified as Ankit Malviya, allegedly took the girl into the forest after she travelled from Karedi to Rajgarh to meet him. Following an argument, he allegedly killed her with a saw and later called his cousin to tell him about the incident. Malviya then left the forest on his motorcycle but died after colliding with a truck, police said.Rajgarh SP Amit Tolani said the investigation had established that the two were in a relationship and that the girl had been murdered, while the youth suspected of killing her died in the road accident soon afterwards. However, the exact reason behind the killing was yet to be established.“Yes, there was a noose at the spot. We are trying to ascertain the actual reason behind the incident. The two were in a relationship,” Tolani said. Girl had been missing since Sept 30The minor lived with her maternal uncle in Karedi village and had been reported missing at Rajgarh Kotwali police station on Sept 30. Police began tracing her movements and examined CCTV footage from the area. The footage showed her travelling towards Shamsherpura on a motorcycle with Malviya, a resident of Jamonia Ganesh village.Malviya worked at a factory in Pithampur and had allegedly been in contact with the girl for around two years. Police said he had asked her to meet him on Sept 30. The girl travelled by bus from Karedi to Rajgarh, where she met Malviya. The two then travelled towards Biaora on his motorcycle.Police suspect the couple entered a forested area where an argument broke out. Malviya allegedly attacked the girl and severed her neck with a saw.After the alleged murder, police said, Malviya called his cousin and narrated what had happened. He then allegedly attempted suicide before leaving the forest.The investigation into Malviya’s call records showed that he had spoken to his cousin several times around the time of the incident. This eventually led police to question the cousin. While leaving the forest on his motorcycle, Malviya collided with a truck and died on the spot, police said.During questioning, the cousin allegedly told police about the information he had received from Malviya. Acting on the information, police searched the forest and recovered the girl’s body on Tuesday.The remains were in an advanced stage of decomposition. The skull had decomposed to a skeletal state and was found around 50 feet from the torso.A saw was recovered near the body. Police also found a rope noose hanging from a tree at the spot.While the investigation indicates that the girl was murdered and Malviya was allegedly responsible, police said the exact motive remained unclear.
