NEW DELHI: A court Saturday rejected CJP legal affairs head Ratna Singh’s plea seeking registration of an FIR against police personnel for alleged wrongful confinement and preventing her from attending a lawyers’ protest against chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the conduct of Special Intensive Revision.Chief metropolitan magistrate Abhinav Pandey of Saket Courts also dismissed her plea seeking release as not maintainable. He observed Singh had failed to specify the jurisdiction of the alleged offences, identify the responsible public servant, or annex an affidavit affirming the veracity of her claims.Singh, a practising advocate who was represented by advocate Adit S Pujari, had sought directions for registration of an FIR and a status report from police.According to her application, she was heading towards the protest with two fellow advocates when she was prevented from leaving her residence.Singh said she was sitting in a car outside her house with advocate Tara Narula when two vehicles blocked her way from the front and rear, while police personnel remained at the doors.Singh claimed that she faced a threat to her life and liberty, and urged the court to examine a video of the incident. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Delhi | Silver Rate in Delhi | Bank Holidays in Delhi | Public Holidays in Delhi | Delhi AQI | Weather in Delhi | Petrol Price in Delhi | Diesel Price in Delhi | CNG Price in Delhi | LPG Price in DelhiStay updated with the latest Delhi news.
