The Rovers moved to 3-0-0 behind two goals in the first 127 seconds and a couple of insurance goals in the second half. Senior Zach Pastor ripped the first goal of the game from the left side in the second minute. Exactly a minute later, junior Dylan Boland capped a beautiful run in which he halted, turned inward and then fired away for a 2-0 Rootstown lead. Crestwood hung around the rest of the half, including Owen Overfield's free-kick goal from 35 yards out in the eighth minute. The Rovers finally got the insurance they were seeking in the 54th minute when Bryson Scarlett slotted a perfect pass up to fellow senior Sam Textor for a goal. Pastor added further insurance with his second goal of the game.

Roosevelt 189, Cloverleaf 193, Tallmadge 266

The Rough Riders snapped the Colts' 118-match conference win streak behind junior Brooke Beatty's 39, including birdies on the fifth and eighth holes. Senior Aubrey Byler added a 49 while junior Makenna Ward (50) and senior Coco Golden (51) rounded out the scoring.

Freshman Layla Haynes erupted for four goals to push the Rovers' unbeaten streak to three games. Josie App, Paisley Day and Elliott Smallfield added a goal apiece for Rootstown (2-1-1, 1-0-0 CVC) while Sammy Smolk and Charlie Wilson each tallied an assist.

Brooklyn Wilson scored twice as the Falcons remained undefeated. Molly Murphy added a goal and an assist for Field (4-0-0, 2-0-0 Metro Athletic Conference) while Odessa Hottensmith and Ruby Roberts also scored goals and Peyton Schock added an assist. Zoe Kramer made three saves to record the shutout in net.

Rootstown def. United 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21

The Rovers had five players record four-plus kills: Lilly Kamenash (seven), Sophi Smith (six), Sophia Byers (five), Alexa Sladky (five) and Ardynn Soika (four). Byers also had eight assists, eight digs and two aces while Kamenash had a team-high three aces. Ella Hayn added a team-high 23 digs for Rootstown (2-0).

Bloomfield def. Windham 25-23, 23-25, 24-26, 30-28, 15-11

The Bombers lost a heartbreaker in which the first four sets were all decided by the minimum two points. Windham fell despite Makenna Jones' 13 kills, Kyleigh Simpson's 11 assists and Kierrah Sanders' 12 digs. Makenzi Blockinger added a stellar performance from the service line with 13 points (including six aces).

The Vikings fell despite two goals from Alexis Henry and two assists from Koralee Jenior. Abigail Roberts had six saves for Waterloo (1-2-0, 0-1-0 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference), which actually led in both corner kicks (4-2) and shots on goal (15-10).

The Rovers (1-5) fell despite Charlie Wilson firing a 50 and Morgan Giebel tacking on a solid 52.
