NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurav Das and national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka were detained by Delhi Police on Tuesday.According to sources quoted by news agency PTI, Das and Ranka were detained while trying to reach Jantar Mantar.“Jantar Mantar has been reclaimed! we have entered Jantar Mantar and now we are being detained! but this is a message to all of us young gen! we can do it! gyanu, you’re done bro,” Das said in a social media post.In a post on 'X', CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke also claimed that party members carrying the national flag sneaked into Jantar Mantar before being detained by Delhi Police.“You cannot denotify the resistance, Narendra Modi,” Dipke said in the post.Dipke on the INDIA bloc's protest told news agency PTI, "Narendra Modi's fear is evident from the fact that he has removed Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site. He thinks protests will stop if Jantar Mantar is no longer a designated protest site, but that is not going to happen. Jantar Mantars will now emerge across the country."Narendra Modi's problem is not with Jantar Mantar as a location, but with protests. We must understand this," he added further.Ashutosh Ranka in his post said, "Hands Off Jantar Mantar."According to an official notice, Delhi Police on Monday de-notified Jantar Mantar as a designated venue for protests and demonstrations and designated three alternative locations for such gatherings. The three new protest venues are Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in east Delhi. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had constituted a committee to examine alternative venues where citizens could exercise their right to organise protests and demonstrations.Based on the committee’s recommendations, Jantar Mantar was de-notified as a designated protest venue, the notice stated. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Delhi | Silver Rate in Delhi | Bank Holidays in Delhi | Public Holidays in Delhi | Delhi AQI | Weather in Delhi | Petrol Price in Delhi | Diesel Price in Delhi | CNG Price in Delhi | LPG Price in DelhiStay updated with the latest Delhi news.
