Cockroaches, mouldy bread: PG facility on Ashram Road sealed

Ahmedabad: Sunrise Living PG on Ashram Road was sealed on Wednesday after AMC teams found poorly stored food, unhygienic conditions, expired food products and mouldy bread. Approximately 150 to 200 working professionals and students eat at the facility every day.AMC officials found kitchen workers without hair nets, aprons or gloves. Mouldy bread and expired sauce were found, and cockroaches were spotted in the kitchen area. The establishment flouted hygiene and sanitation standards under Schedule-4 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, leading to its closure. Inspections were carried out at non-vegetarian eateries behind Shahibaug Police Commissioner’s Office in Dudheshwar area.
