AHMEDABAD: The Daman administration on Wednesday made owners of Mahindra Thar and Toyota Fortuner SUVs take a road safety pledge. The initiative comes amid continued public debate online over the image of the two SUVs.“Thar and Fortuner owners participating in the ‘Thar-Fortuner Sankalp Yatra’ and taking the Road Safety Pledge administered by district collector,” the post said.A video shared with the post shows Fortuners and Thars lined up together as part of the rally. A banner at the event carried the message, “Raftaar nahi, sansakar” (Not speed, but values).Reacting to the video, Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw praised the initiative. “I think India needs this kind of ‘schooling’ more than another driving lesson! Commendable move by the Daman Collector,” she said in a post on X.“Making Thar and Fortuner owners take an oath to drive safely, sometimes a little public pledge may work better than a thousand road signs!” she added. The Daman administration did not link the campaign to any specific accident or incident. Instead, its post presented the gathering as an effort to encourage responsible driving and road safety. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Ahmedabad | Silver Rate in Ahmedabad | Bank Holidays in Ahmedabad | Public Holidays in Ahmedabad | Ahmedabad AQI | Weather in Ahmedabad | Petrol Price in Ahmedabad | Diesel Price in Ahmedabad | CNG Price in Ahmedabad | LPG Price in AhmedabadStay updated with the latest Ahmedabad news.
