GUWAHATI: Ramanuj Goswami, who beheaded his wife Riya Talukdar on September 3, died after sustaining a "severe head injury" when he jumped off the moving police vehicle in the wee hours of Monday on the Narakasur hill when he was being taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for medical examination, police sources said.He was supposed to be produced before a court on Monday as his seven days of police custody ended on Sunday.Ramanuj, who married Riya on September 22 last year, killed her on September 3 morning following a heated argument over Riya's alleged extramarital affair and beheaded her. He kept the severed head inside a refrigerator.He surrendered before police on September 6 night and he was then arrested by the police. That same night, police recovered the body and severed the head of the woman.On September 8, Ramanuj passed a comment to the media from police custody, while he was being taken for a medical examination, that "he would kill Sugar Daddy if and when he comes out of jail."
